Queensland records zero local coronavirus cases as police say they plan to solve the mystery of how Covid spread around the Grand Chancellor hotel in a fortnight
Queensland reported zero new locally acquired cases of coronavirus on Tuesday.
Three cases were detected in hotel quarantine and there were 6,699 tests conducted.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the state was on track for restrictions to be lifted on Friday.
‘Once again, no concerns, and we are on track to have those restrictions lifted (on Friday),’ she said.
‘We’ve only got two more days to go, so fingers crossed that all will be very, very good for Friday morning.’
Meanwhile, police are set to interview hundreds of people as they try to get to the bottom of how Covid-19 spread at the Hotel Grand Chancellor in Brisbane.
Deputy Police Commissioner and State Disaster Co-ordinator Steve Gollschewski said initial findings of their investigation are anticipated to be provided ‘in another couple of weeks’.
