Egyptian MP and journalist Mustafa Bakri sent a message of distress to Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz and his Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, requesting pardon for an Egyptian citizen sentenced to death in Saudi Arabia.
Bakri said in a tweet on Twitter: “To the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and to his Crown Prince His Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman, a cry from every Egyptian, we ask for pardon for the wronged Egyptian citizen, Engineer Ali Abu Al-Qassem, against whom a death sentence was issued and he will be executed. Within days of his crime, all the facts indicate that he did not commit it. “
To the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and to his Crown Prince His Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman, a cry from every Egyptian, we ask for forgiveness for the oppressed Egyptian citizen, engineer Ali Abu Al-Qasim, who has been sentenced to death and will be executed within days in connection with a crime that all the facts indicate that he did not commit it. He added, “We ask for pardon as a mercy for him and his family. We have great confidence in the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his trustworthy Crown Prince to re-investigate the case and stop the execution decision.”

Abu al-Qasim was accused of smuggling drugs to Saudi Arabia, while separate sources suggest that drug dealers had invaded him in equipment that he had imported from Egypt to Saudi Arabia without his knowledge of that.
