The Egyptian government announced the availability of a strategic stockpile of liquefied oxygen of up to one million liters, in addition to the quantities that are pumped to hospitals on a daily basis.
Cabinet spokesperson Nader Saad explained that Health Minister Hala Zayed presented the epidemiological situation during today’s meeting, which indicates that it is reassuring and stable to some extent.
He added: “The government’s decision to impose an immediate fine for not wearing a mask was reflected in the numbers of Corona injuries during the last period, and contributed to the decrease in new numbers as well as deaths.”
He confirmed the existence of a strategic stockpile of liquefied oxygen that reaches one million liters, in addition to the quantities that are pumped to hospitals on a daily basis, pointing out that the stock will be used in the event of an increase in Corona injuries that need hospitalization.
He continued, “When citizens commit themselves, they help themselves and the government,” referring to the low occupancy rate in regular beds, intensive care and ventilators.
Regarding the vaccination of medical personnel with Corona vaccines, he explained that the vaccination operations of the medical sector are continuing with the existing vaccines, either from the Chinese company “Sinopharm”, or what Egypt recently received from the “AstraZeneca” vaccine.
