Lebanon. 67 deaths and 2,496 new cases of coronavirus

The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that 67 deaths of 2,496 new cases of Coronavirus were recorded in the last 24 hours.

The Ministry stated in its daily report that the total number of deaths due to the virus in the country reached 3562, while the total number of infections reached 317,836.

Since last January 11, Lebanon imposed a round-the-clock curfew, when the number of HIV infections increased after the lax measures during the Christmas holidays led to a high number of infections and the depletion of hospital capacities.

Yesterday, the caretaker government said that the strict lockdown imposed due to the Coronavirus will be eased gradually in four two-week phases, starting on Monday.

On the other hand, the Lebanese Ministry of Health authorized the emergency use of the Russian “Sputnik V” vaccine, provided that the importing companies ensure compliance with the specified standards.
