The Mexican team, Tigres Unal, reached the final of the 17th edition of the FIFA Club World Cup, in Qatar, at the expense of the Brazilian Copa Libertadores champion Palmeiras, after defeating them with one goal.
CONCACAF champion Tigres owe their victory to French striker André-Pierre Gignac, who scored his only “golden” victory, in the 53rd minute from a penalty kick, today, Sunday, at the Education City Stadium in Al-Rayyan.

The Tigress team will be on a date in the World Cup 2020 final, next Thursday, with the winner of the match that will bring together the Egyptian Al-Ahly (African champion) and Bayern Munich (European champion), on Monday.
It is noteworthy that Tigres is participating for the first time in the World Cup, after crowning the CONCACAF Cup champion at the expense of Los Angeles, the USA champion, with two goals to one, in the final held in Orlando, USA, last December.
