Armenia rejected the statements of Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Ceyhun Bayramov about the absence of Armenian prisoners in Azerbaijan.
“This is a new slander on the part of the Azerbaijani side regarding this urgent humanitarian issue,” said the spokeswoman for the Armenian Foreign Ministry, Anna Nagdalian.
She added that the statement of the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister contradicts the statements of other Azerbaijani agencies, which confirmed the presence of dozens of Armenian prisoners in Azerbaijan, who “were captured during the hostilities or after the declaration of a ceasefire.”

The spokeswoman accused Azerbaijan of not providing information about the prisoners to the European Court of Human Rights.
And it considered that “the continued detention of Armenian prisoners undermines the implementation of the agreements contained in the Tripartite Declaration” issued last November, which was signed by Russian Presidents Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on ending the fighting in the Karabakh region.
Earlier, the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister, Jihon Bayramov, announced during his meeting with the Swedish Foreign Minister Anne Linde, who heads the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, that Azerbaijan handed over all the prisoners to Armenia.
