Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, announced Monday that his country will launch an industrial strategy aimed at raising the contribution of the industrial sector from 133 billion dirhams, or 36.2 billion dollars to 300 billion Dirhams, or $ 81.6 billion, over the next 10 years.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid explained that the strategy aims to support the establishment of 13,500 industrial companies in the coming years, as well as plans to increase spending on research and development in the industrial sector from $ 5.7 billion to $ 15.5 billion.
In his series of tweets, Sheikh Mohammed also announced the launch of “the industrial identity of the UAE derived from its media identity … with the aim of supporting our national products … and promoting their global marketing … and establishing their industrial competitiveness.”
