When Christian and Emma Barber arrived in Dubai in 2010, they noticed just how much plastic was consumed in the region (one of the highest per capita in the world) and quickly realized that there was virtually no infrastructure for recycling. They founded DGrade to recycle plastic bottles and make high quality yarn that can be used to make clothes.
