US President Joe Biden said that Republicans have to decide whether they want to work with Democrats or divide the country, adding that he will go ahead with his priorities and “accept what happens.”
Biden added in a press conference that the Senate must limit the use of a parliamentary maneuver to disrupt and require 60 votes to push most of the legislation, adding that “this measure is misused.”
He said he was determined “to get things done in Congress and that the obstruction rule is an obstacle that is greatly misused.”
Liberals want to get rid of this base to help advance Biden’s priorities, fearing that Republicans, who hold half of the seats in the 100-member House, could block legislation.
