Timur Khizriev, the undefeated 2024 PFL Featherweight Champion, has been hospitalized following a shooting incident in Makhachkala, Dagestan.
The attack occurred in a residential courtyard as Khizriev was unloading his car. He was ambushed by two masked assailants who fired a traumatic pistol at close range. Reports indicate that Khizriev was struck in the back by the first shot but managed to tackle one of the attackers before the second opened fire.
The assailants fled the scene in a white vehicle, triggering a widespread manhunt by local authorities.
Khizriev’s management confirmed that the fighter is in stable condition and his life is not in danger. The Dagestani fighter, who holds a perfect 18-0 record, recently claimed the PFL featherweight title and a $1 million prize with a dominant victory over former champion Brendan Loughnane.
