Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Sells Out in Minutes

Advance tickets for the Japanese preview screenings of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Infinity Castle: Part 1 sold out nationwide in just 10 minutes. The overwhelming demand, which cleared inventory for showings in 24 theaters across 11 prefectures, has drawn immediate comparisons to the 2020 blockbuster Mugen Train.

Achieving a nationwide sell-out with such speed is a rare feat, even in Japan’s thriving anime market, and marks a historic moment for the franchise. This early indicator suggests that Demon Slayer‘s popularity remains at its peak. The series has consistently demonstrated its box office strength, with even theatrical compilations of its television episodes drawing significant audiences in Japan and abroad.

Given this trajectory, analysts and fans predict that Infinity Castle may be poised to surpass the franchise’s previous records. Its predecessor, Mugen Train, became the highest-grossing anime film of all time, earning over $507 million globally. The initial ticket sales appear to validate studio Ufotable’s strategy of adapting the epic Infinity Castle arc into a three-part film series, setting the stage for another monumental box office run.
