Venture capitalist and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian will join the upcoming 17th season of ABC’s Shark Tank as a guest investor.
Ohanian, who founded the venture capital firm Seven Seven Six, confirmed the news on the social media platform X, stating, “Looks like the secret is out. Can’t wait for yall to watch.” His addition brings a prominent figure from the tech and investment world to the entrepreneurial pitch show.
His wife, tennis icon Serena Williams, has previously praised Ohanian’s investment acumen, particularly his support for women’s sports. In a past video, Williams called him the “GOAT of investing,” noting, “He started a whole movement in women’s sports by getting billions invested.”
Ohanian joins Shark Tank during a period of significant transition. The new season follows the departure of long-time investor Mark Cuban and will move from its traditional Friday slot to Wednesdays this fall.
He will be part of a new lineup of guest sharks that also includes Poppi co-founder Allison Ellsworth, Magnolia founders Chip and Joanna Gaines, Michael Strahan, Kendra Scott, and Uncle Nearest CEO Fawn Weaver. With his background in backing innovative startups and women-led companies, Ohanian is expected to bring a fresh perspective to the panel.
