Greenpeace has apologised after a paraglider hit spidercam wires in the Allianz Arena and nearly crashed into supporters in a botched protest during Germany’s Euro clash against France.
The activist, who had ‘Kick Out Oil’ emblazoned on his yellow parachute, was inches away from fans’ heads as he lost control, sending debris falling on to the pitch.
A part of his device nearly crashed down onto France manager Didier Deschamps who sheltered in the dugout.
The daredevil managed to divert his parachute away from the stands after spinning wildly above the pitch, and head towards the turf, almost hitting players lining up before kickoff.
He appeared to injure a photographer in the failed stunt as he made a very heavy landing on the pitch next to the German stars who ran for safety.
Greenpeace Germany later apologised, saying: ‘We apologise that at today’s #Greenpeace campaign, due to a technical fault, a forced emergency landing endangered people and one person was apparently injured as a result. We hope everyone is fine. #FRAGER.’

He was then led away by security stewards and given medical attention on the side of the field.
The activist seemed unhurt and was quickly arrested.
A camera operator appeared to have been injured in the incident but walked away by himself with medics.

France went on to win the highly anticipated clash 1-0 thanks to an own-goal by German defender Mats Hummels.
