REVEALED: Trump charged his Secret Service detail $10,000 to stay in rooms at his Bedminster golf club in May
- Former President Donald Trump charged the Secret Service nearly $10,200 for guest rooms at his Bedminster, New Jersey resort during May
- The nightly rate was redacted but matches up to the previous amount of $566.64 per night being charged for 18 nights
- The Washington Post also obtained records that the Secret Service planned to continue staying at the Trump property through July 1
- Trump arrived in Bedminster on May 9, as his Florida club, Mar-a-Lago, is closed for during the hot months
Former President Donald Trump charged the Secret Service nearly $10,200 for guest rooms at his Bedminster, New Jersey resort during his first month living at the club this year.
The Washington Post obtained records for the month of May, and while the nightly rate was redacted, the agency was previously charged $566.64 per night to rent a four-bedroom cottage on the property.
That rate is likely what Secret Service is still being charged as the $10,199.52 total is the exact multiple of what it would cost the agency to rent the cottage for 18 nights.

The Washington Post obtained records that indicated that Trump was likely continuing to charge the Secret Service a nightly rate of $566.64 to rent a four-bedroom cottage on the property

Trump moved north for the summer as his Florida club, Mar-a-Lago, is closed for the state’s hot season.
He arrived on May 9.
An additional internal Secret Service form obtained by The Washington Post, called a ‘hotel request’ form, indicated that agents planned to continue staying at the property between May 28 and July 1.
And in a separate document The Post found that the Secret Service has been charged $3,400
The Washington Post had previously obtained Secret Service spending records that found taxpayers footed $40,011.15 to keep agents near Trump from January 20 until April 30 of this year.
Trump charged the Secret Service $396.15 a night to rent one room at his Mar-a-Lago resort that they use as an office.

The $396.15-per-night rate is the same amount Trump charged the agency as president and the Secret Service is now renting fewer rooms, the documents show.
However, because Trump was living full-time at Mar-a-Lago, instead of just spending weekends and holidays there, the Secret Service paid the private Florida club nearly as much this spring as it did during the same period in 2018 or 2019, The Post said.
The Trump Organization has never disclosed how rates the Secret Service are charged are determined.
In an interview in 2019, Eric Trump said the agency was charged ‘like 50 bucks’ per night.
The Post has analyzed more than 3,600 nights the Secret Service has stayed at Trump properties and never found rates that low.
