Kelly Osbourne has paid tribute to her late father, Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away at the age of 76 following a prolonged battle with Parkinson’s disease.
On Thursday, she posted a poignant message on Instagram, quoting lyrics from a song they had recorded together. “I feel unhappy I am so sad. I lost the best friend I ever had 💔,” she wrote.
The lyrics are from “Changes,” a Black Sabbath song originally released in 1972. Kelly and Ozzy recorded a popular duet version in 2003, with the lyrics reworked to reflect their father-daughter relationship.
Tributes have also come from other members of the Osbourne family. Lisa Stelly, the former wife of Osbourne’s son Jack, shared an emotional post honoring her ex-father-in-law’s role as a grandfather to their three daughters, Pearl, Andy, and Minnie.
“The world got Ozzy. We got Papa,” Stelly wrote alongside a collection of personal photos and a video. “One of one. Larger than life. It hurts to say goodbye, but what a gift it was to have him. We will never stop missing you.” The images and video show a softer side of the “Prince of Darkness,” depicting him smiling and playing with his young grandchildren.
Following the heavy metal icon’s death on July 22, the Osbourne family released a joint statement. “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”
The statement was signed by his wife, Sharon; their children, Aimee, Kelly, and Jack; and his son Louis, from his first marriage to Thelma Riley.
