Austin Hill is facing potential penalties after on-track contact sent Aric Almirola crashing hard into the wall late in the Pennzoil 250 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The incident is under scrutiny for what appeared to be an intentional “right rear hook,” a dangerous maneuver strictly forbidden in motorsports. The contact sent Almirola’s car into a heavy impact with the outside wall, contributing to rising tensions during a long, hot race.
Following the crash, officials displayed a red flag to address fluid on the racetrack and the return of rain to the area.
