Bonnaroo festival featuring Lizzo and Megan The Stallion CANCELLED for the second year in a row amid Hurricane Ida
Bonnaroo’s 2021 festival has been cancelled due to the downpour from Hurricane Ida.
The Tennessee-based music and art event announced the news in a statement on Tuesday, telling attendees they were ‘absolutely heartbroken’ to have to make the call.
A-listers like Lizzo, Megan Thee Stallion, Foo Fighters, Tyler the Creator, Janelle Monae, Lana Del Rey and more were slated to perform.

The Truth Hurts songstress wrote about the festival online later Tuesday, telling fans she was ‘honored to be you first female headliner’ and adding ‘take care of yourselves everyone who is in the path of the storm. Safety first.’
Bonnaroo takes place in Manchester, Tennessee, about 70 miles south of Nashville.
The region expected to get three to six inches of rain for the remainder of Ida, which first hit the area late Monday.
Boonaroo organizers said while weather forecasts for this coming weekend looked ‘outstanding,’ the festival site was ‘waterlogged’ from the extensive showers.

‘The ground is incredibly saturated on our tollbooth paths, and the campgrounds are flooded to the point that we are unable to drive in or park vehicles safely,’ they added.
‘We have done everything in our power to try to keep the show moving forward, but Mother Nature has dealt us a tremendous amount of rain over the past 24 hours, and we have run out of options to try to make the event happen safely and in a way that lives up to the Bonnaroo experience.’
Prior to the ultimate cancellation, the festival had announced they were scaling back their camping area due to the storms.

Ticketholders who purchased directly through Front Gate Tickets are being offered full refunds for their passes, which sold for $379 for a four day pass.
2021 would have been the first time Bonnaroo took place outside of the month of June.
This comes after the coronavirus pandemic forced the festival to cancel the 2020 event.
The last time Bonnaroo took place in 2019, it welcomed 80k attendees.
