Los Angeles high school is put on lockdown after one person is shot outside and another is found wounded at a nearby kindergarten
A Los Angeles high school was placed on a lockdown order on Thursday afternoon after one person was found shot outside and another was found the street at a nearby kindergarten, cops said.
The Los Angeles School Police Department responded to reports of shots fired along the perimeter of Santee High School in downtown Los Angeles, the agency said on Twitter around 2 p.m. local time.
About half an hour later, the LASPD responded to reports of a second gun shot victim found outside the Maple Primary Center – a school for students in kindergarten and first grade.

The LASPD noted that officers with the Los Angeles Police Department, as well as the Los Angeles Fire Department, also responded to the shootings
The suspect had been described by the LASPD as a Hispanic male wearing dark blue clothes with green shoes riding on a light blue bike. It was not immediately clear if the suspect has been arrested.Â
The two gunshot victims were transported to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions remain unknown.
The lockdown for the Santee Education Complex has since been lifted, police said.
The LASPD noted that officers with the Los Angeles Police Department, as well as the Los Angeles Fire Department, also responded to the shootings.
