Columbia University has reached a settlement with the federal government that restores $200 million in funding, concluding months of negotiations with the former Trump administration.
The administration had frozen the funds, which support critical scientific research, after accusing the university of violating anti-discrimination laws. As part of the agreement, Columbia University did not admit to any wrongdoing.
Acting Columbia President Claire Shipman discussed the resolution in an interview with CNN’s Kate Bolduan.
