A team of French chefs led by Dave Tissot has won the prestigious Paul Bocuse Gold Culinary Contest held near the French city of Lyon, where top international chefs compete, according to Euronews.
Whoever wins the competition will receive the title of the Bocuse Gold Award for Cooking, which is one of the most important international competitions in culinary art, established by the late French chef Paul Bocuse..
This year, the competition included a new test, in terms of preparing a dish for ready meals, in reference to restaurant owners who had to rethink their way of working during the emerging Corona virus pandemic.
Denmark won the second place and the silver award, while Norway won the bronze after it ranked third. Over the course of two days, 21 teams competed after three teams had to be absent due to the imposed health restrictions.

Each team presented the committee, consisting of chefs from all over the world, with a dish of beef, while in the second stage they attended three dishes of appetizers, a main dish and a dessert using tomatoes.
The 2019 edition of the competition ended with a Scandinavian trio winning, with Denmark’s Kenneth Toft-Hansen taking first place, followed by Sweden’s Sebastian Gibrand and Norway’s Christian Andre in second and third places..
Launched by the famous chef Paul Bocuse in 1987, this competition is considered the Chefs World Cup and is held every two years on the sidelines of the International Restaurant Fair in Lyon.
