Mohamed Awad Taj El-Din, Advisor to the President of the Republic for health and prevention affairs, revealed that while the repercussions of the Corona conference crisis continue on the whole world, in all aspects, economically, healthily, and financially, we need to combine efforts to confront it with the continuation of injuries so far.
The Adviser to the President of the Republic for Health and Prevention Affairs, during his speech at the Second Medicine Conference, added that Egypt has a major role in facing the repercussions of the spread of the Corona virus, noting that what happened on the land of Egypt was not witnessed by Egypt at all, as measures were taken on the ground before any infections appeared. With the virus, and preparations were made in advance at all levels to overcome this crisis in a way that deserves appreciation and praise due to those efforts.
He said that the steely will of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi was a strong supporter, which worked to overcome all routine and bureaucratic obstacles, to face this challenge, which was prepared before any cases infected with the Corona virus appeared in Egypt, and the president allocated about one billion pounds and directed the preparation of All the safety of treatment and isolation, and the state participated in all its devices and provided all means of support in order to provide treatment.
Dr. Awad Taj El-Din pointed out that there was a stock of medical devices and supplies, university hospitals were equipped, and about 88 chest and fever hospitals were equipped to receive cases, and the president himself was following up the strategic reserve of medical devices and supplies, and the state did not spare any support for the health sector, and then we did not suffer From any medication during this stage at a time when there were countries that used tape treatment to prevent infected symptoms, before the appearance of the vaccine.
Taj El-Din stressed that Egypt had the ability to produce any medicines to prevent accompanying symptoms, and the Medicines Authority and the Unified Procurement Authority provided everything during the last period, amid instructions from the political leadership to provide other devices as an alternative to what was used.
Awad Taj El-Din touched on the issue of localizing the pharmaceutical industry, stressing that the Corona crisis proved beyond any doubt the importance of real localization of the pharmaceutical industry.
He affirmed President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s interest and support for the localization of the pharmaceutical industry in Egypt with international standards, the presence of a strong will to enter some pharmaceutical industries, the manufacture of some oncology drugs in cooperation with foreign companies, and the production of effective, safe and economic drugs by the drug city.
Taj El-Din stressed that although the pharmaceutical industry is complex and includes many components, the presence of political support and the presence of a health infrastructure, including the pharmaceutical part, helps to accomplish this task.
