Buenos Aires, Oct 27 (.) .- The pharmaceutical company Bayer (DE 🙂 announced investments in Argentina for 156 million dollars for the next three years, a financial plan that will aim to improve the production process in six plants in the country, reported this Wednesday official sources.
The investment will seek to generate a greater impact on innovation, digitization and sustainability of the operational management of industrial plants in the cities of Pilar, Rojas and Zárate, in the province of Buenos Aires.
“Dozens of Argentine SMEs (small and medium-sized companies) will be an essential part in the implementation of this process, since 70% of the investment will be contracted locally,” they said in a statement.
“This is a gesture of confidence towards the country that we greatly value because it represents predictability, sustainability and a commitment to the future,” said the Argentine Chief of Staff, Juan Manzur.
Both Manzur and the Minister of Productive Development, Matías Kulfas, toured one of the factories in Pilar this Wednesday during an official ceremony.
For his part, Kulfas asserted that “it is about being able to generate productive networks with a lot of national work, knowledge and development throughout the territory.”
In this sense, Bayer will aim in Pilar to strengthen the supply of the local market and meet the demand of other Latin American countries, as well as China and Southeast Asia.
While in Zárate, a plant for crop protection products, it will develop new packaging that promotes sustainability, in addition to expanding and modernizing equipment to increase local production and substitute imports.
In Rojas they will increase the seed processing capacity of, the construction of a new control room for the classification tower, the improvement of the seed curing process.
“Part of this investment will be focused on developing innovative processes that will seek to achieve the company’s goal of becoming a carbon-free organization by 2030 and reducing the impact of greenhouse gases on agriculture by 30% by the same year. ”, Explains the document.
