Cleveland Cavaliers power forward Kevin Love has been included in the NBA’s health and safety protocols, journalist Shams Charania reported. It has not been disclosed whether Love has tested positive for COVID-19 but is expected to “miss several games.”
At 33, Love is the highest paid player in the current Cavaliers roster with $ 31.2 million guaranteed this season, ahead of Jarrett Allen’s $ 20 million and Ricky Rubio’s $ 17.8 million. However, physical and mental health problems have accompanied him for much of his career, reducing his performance in the last five years.
At this start to the season, Love is averaging 9.9 points and 7.3 rebounds in 20.7 minutes, all of them career lows. Without the veteran player available, the Ohio team can rely on Cedi Osman and Dean Wade to pack their time on the court.
At the moment, everything indicates that Love will not be present in the next three games: Monday against Charlotte, Wednesday against Blazers and Friday with the Raptors as a rival.
