The Sixers announced weeks ago that they would no longer fine Ben Simmons. The movement accompanied the player’s return to Philadelphia to calm the waters of the conflict a bit. Since then, everything has happened. Simmons set aside in practice on his own feet, reprimand from Embiid, apologies, etc. And in the midst of the chaos, a meeting of the player with the team leadership to admit that he was going through complicated episodes at the level. What seemed to be a full stop in a troubled relationship has ended up being a new focus of problems, Well, Simmons has relied on the psychological help that the Sixers intended to make available to him.
Refusing treatment without stating reasons other than stubbornness, his absence from yesterday’s game against Detroit has been classified as self-deliberation. Simmons has been working with his own team on his physical and mental for weeks, but he refuses to share his monitoring with the Sixers.
This allows Philadelphia to have reversed its intention not to fine him again, subtracting $ 360,000 from his salary related to the party from which he absent without justification. The movement reopens a tug of war that seems to have no end. Daryl Morey has already warned that this situation could last four years, the time left to the Australian’s contract.
