The opening of this route will allow connecting the industrial capital with the old continent without the need to fly to Mexico City.
This decision represents an increase of 43% of the offer that Aeroméxico has to Spain through 20 frequencies weekly from Mexico City, Monterrey and Guadalajara.
“I thank the government of Nuevo León, OMA and each one of my colleagues from Aeroméxico. We have been connecting to Monterrey for more than four decades and this route that we inaugurate today allows us to take our customers and cargo not only from Monterrey, but from the north of the country to the main gate of Europe ”, commented José A. Zapata, Vice President of Sales Mexico and JCA of Aeroméxico.
“With the start of this route, Monterrey is consolidated as the Hub of the north of the country and strengthens the expansion project of up to 7,000 million pesos that we are investing in this airport,” commented Ricardo Dueñas, General Director of OMA.

“I am very happy that Nuevo León continues to set the example. Today we gladly receive 290 passengers from Madrid. It is proven in the world, where you put airports, you not only generate flights, spills, transport, cargo and tourism. This land of Nuevo León should be the hub of northern Mexico and this type of act is the first step, ”commented the governor, Samuel García Sepúlveda.
With this new route, the airline has an offer of about 143,000 monthly seats to connect to the city of Monterrey.
