To face the new wave of infections of the respiratory disease Covid-19, caused by the Ómicron variant, at least 17 of the 32 states in the country have announced new measures to contain the virus, while all have reinforced prevention messages infections.
Jalisco, for example, will apply as of January 14 “new measures to maintain the economic growth strategy with responsibility”, but does not contemplate ordering the closure of trade in general again.
A staggered calendar was established for the face-to-face return of students to schools: Children of the basic educational level will return to the classrooms on January 17, on January 31 the students of upper secondary education and the student body of the University of Guadalajara, the February 8th. Private universities will start face-to-face classes according to their own calendar, after the last day of January.
It will also be mandatory to present the vaccination certificate or negative PCR test with 48 hours validity to enter some recreational activities such as stadiums, where the capacity will also be 60 percent.
In Tlaxcala, vaccination certificates will also be requested to access commercial establishments, although the health authorities clarified that given the difficulties that people face in obtaining it, entry will be allowed by simply presenting the proof on paper or a photo on the cell phone.
In Tamaulipas, the suspension of social events such as weddings and XV years was decreed; the capacity in gyms will be a maximum of 40% of its capacity and in hotels 50%; In some municipalities of the state, government public events were suspended.
San Luis Potosí intensified the free application of antigen tests for the detection of Covid-19 in the municipalities of Matehuala, Villas de Pozos, Rioverde, Ciudad Valles and Tamazunchale, among others, given the growing number of active infections.
In Nuevo León, from the last day of 2021, the capacity was reduced to 50% in shops with closed spaces such as cinemas or even daycare centers. For outdoor activities, the permitted capacity also dropped to 70 percent.
Baja California reported that the capacity in public places will be restricted to 50% and that establishments will be able to request a vaccination certificate from people to enter. In Baja California Sur, it was decided to suspend face-to-face classes until further notice.
Aguascalientes also decided to reduce capacity to 50% in bars and restaurants, which may not be open beyond 11 at night.
Other states that foresee new measures are: Chihuahua, Coahuila, Durango, Guanajuato, Hidalgo, Nayarit, Quintana Roo, Sinaloa and Zacatecas.
In practically all states and CDMX there is a coincidence in avoiding the closure of businesses.
To date, at the federal level, the government has not announced additional measures to prevent infection. (With editorial information)
