Saturday Night Live will return for its 51st season on Saturday, October 4, 2025, airing at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC and streaming on Peacock.
While the premiere date has been set, details regarding the Season 51 host, musical guest, and returning cast members will be announced in the coming months. Fans hoping to attend a live taping can enter the show’s annual ticket lottery, which is open throughout August.
The announcement follows a celebratory 50th season that earned the program 30 Emmy nominations for 2025. These nominations, which recognized the regular season as well as the 50th-anniversary specials, have extended SNL‘s record as the most-nominated show in television history, now with 338 nominations and 90 wins.
This year’s honors include a nomination for Outstanding Scripted Variety Series and a nod for cast member Bowen Yang. SNL50: The Anniversary Special was also widely recognized for its writing, direction, and production.
Among the individual accolades, Adam Sandler and writer-producer Dan Bulla received a nomination for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for their song “50 Years,” performed during the anniversary special. Bulla was also a creative force behind several of Season 50’s popular “Midnight Matinee” shorts.
Saturday Night Live is currently on its summer hiatus. Past episodes and the 50th-anniversary specials are available to stream on Peacock.
