Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has been ruled out for Sunday’s road game against the Seattle Storm due to a groin injury.
The former Iowa standout, who entered her sophomore season as the betting favorite for league MVP, has been sidelined by three separate injuries this year, causing her to miss a total of 16 games.
Clark sustained the current injury, a right groin strain, in the final 30 seconds of the Fever’s 85-77 win against the Connecticut Sun on July 15. She felt discomfort after making a bounce pass to teammate Kelsey Mitchell and did not return. The guard finished that game with 14 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. This marks the fourth separate muscle ailment for Clark in the 2025 season, a sharp contrast to her durable collegiate career and WNBA Rookie of the Year campaign, during which she did not miss a single game.
The Indiana Fever are scheduled to face the Seattle Storm at 2 p.m. CT on Sunday, August 3, at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle. The game will be broadcast on ABC and available to stream on ESPN+ and FUBO.
