The “Trading and Cooking Event” update for Grow a Garden introduces a culinary quest centered around a new pig chef, Chris P., located near the island’s center. This event replaces the previous Zen and Corruption updates, shifting the focus to growing ingredients and crafting meals.
Players are tasked with preparing various dishes, such as Pizza and Cake, to feed Chris P. While he has a specific food craving that changes hourly, any prepared meal can be offered to him. Rewards are determined by the size and rarity of the food, with bonuses for fulfilling the current craving.
Unlocking the best rewards requires discovering the correct recipes, many of which are unconventional—for example, combining a Watermelon and Corn creates Ice Cream. The rarity of the final meal is influenced by the ingredients used, encouraging players to experiment with different combinations to achieve higher-tier results.
How to Cook in Grow a Garden
To prepare a meal, head to the Cooking Pot on the picnic blanket near the center of the island.
- Select a crop from your inventory or hotbar and interact with the Cooking Pot to add it as an ingredient. All added items will appear on the adjacent ingredients board.
- If you make a mistake, select the red “Empty” button to clear the pot without losing your ingredients.
- When you have added all your ingredients, press the green “Cook” button below the pot to begin.
- After a waiting period, which can be skipped for 39 Robux, the meal will be complete. If you are preparing the meal Chris P. is currently craving, a notification will appear immediately.
- Interact with the Cooking Pot to collect your finished dish. You can then give it to Chris P. or save it for a future craving.
Cooking Event Rewards
Giving food to Chris P. yields a variety of rewards. Note that the rarity of the meal you provide does not guarantee a reward of the same rarity.
