A 28-year-old woman faces charges of driving under the influence after she allegedly crashed her SUV into a Scottsdale police vehicle Saturday night.
The incident occurred around 10:20 p.m. near Scottsdale Road and Virginia Avenue. Police identified the driver as Jensen Borkowski, 28. Authorities report that Borkowski’s SUV struck the rear of a parked, marked patrol car that had its emergency lights activated.
While that police vehicle was unoccupied, the force of the collision pushed it into a second police SUV that had an officer inside. The officer sustained minor injuries. The police were on the scene for a separate traffic stop, and the individuals involved in that stop were unharmed.
Borkowski was booked into jail on suspicion of DUI and extreme DUI. The subsequent investigation required the closure of a quarter-mile section of Scottsdale Road for several hours into early Sunday morning.
