The Washington Mystics have traded guard Brittney Sykes to the Seattle Storm in exchange for forward Alysha Clark and a 2026 first-round draft pick.
To finalize the transaction, Washington also acquired and subsequently waived guard Zia Cooke from the Storm and waived forward Sika Kone.
Sykes, a 2025 All-Star, is enjoying one of the best seasons of her nine-year WNBA career, averaging 15.4 points, 4.3 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. Her arrival is expected to provide a significant offensive boost to the Storm, who currently sit at 16-13 and rank ninth in the league in offensive rating.
For Clark, the trade concludes a brief second tenure with the team she helped lead to championships in 2018 and 2020. After signing for a reduced salary in free agency, her role diminished this season, as she averaged just 18.0 minutes per game and recently recorded her first DNP since 2012.
The deal significantly enhances Washington’s future assets, giving the team three first-round picks in the 2026 draft. The Mystics, who have lost five of their last seven contests and hold a 13-15 record, are currently in a lottery position.
Despite sending a pick to Washington, Seattle still holds two first-round selections for 2026, previously acquired from the Los Angeles Sparks and Las Vegas Aces.
