The Los Angeles Sparks (13-15) will host the Connecticut Sun (5-23) on Thursday night at Crypto.com Arena in a game between two teams with contrasting momentums. The tip-off is scheduled for 10:00 p.m. ET.
Currently in excellent form, the Sparks have won seven of their last eight games, including two in a row. This successful stretch has positioned them just one game behind the No. 8 seed for a WNBA playoff spot. In their most recent outing, Los Angeles secured a 100-91 victory over the Indiana Fever, shooting an efficient 56.1% from the field. Kelsey Plum delivered a standout performance with 25 points and 11 assists, while Rickea Jackson also scored 25 points.
Connecticut, meanwhile, is enduring a difficult season but showed signs of life by winning two of its last three games. The team’s momentum was halted in its last contest, an 82-66 loss to the Phoenix Mercury. After trailing 26-6 in the first quarter, the Sun outscored the Mercury over the remaining three periods but could not overcome the early deficit. Marina Mabrey led the team with 18 points.
Thursday’s game will be the third and final regular-season meeting between the two teams. The Sparks won both of the previous matchups.
