Los Angeles Lakers closed an agreement this Friday with Darvin Hamformer collaborator of Mike Budenholzer in the Milwaukee Bucksas the new coach for the next four seasons, according to the American network Espn.
The Lakers, who fired Frank Vogel On April 11, after failing to qualify for the playoffs, Ham was offered the job after interviewing him on Thursday, says Adrian Wojnarowski of Espn, one of the journalists with the best sources in the NBA.
Ham48, was the Bucks’ assistant coach for the past four seasons and was an NBA champion last year.
Former basketball player, NBA champion with the Detroit Pistons in 2004, Ham already worked for the Lakers, as an assistant, from 2011 to 2013.
He will have the challenge of relaunching the Lakers after the negative season experienced this year with Vogel on the bench, in which the Los Angeles team came out as the favorite, but finished in eleventh position in the West (33-49), outside the positions of ‘play-in’ and ‘playoffs’.
Although the Lakers have not yet made the contract official, LeBron Jamesstar of the team, expressed his joy at the imminent arrival of Ham and congratulated him with a message on his Twitter account.
“Congrats and welcome ‘Coach’ DHam!! #LakeShow,” James wrote.
