Atallah Iskandar, a relative of Salah, told Sky News Arabia: “The people of the village go out in groups, especially young people, to cafes, especially those located on the main road, hours before the start of the meeting, to encourage Salah and follow his skills in front of his competitors.”
Iskandar adds: “There is no talk in our village these days except about the Paris final. Everyone calls for Salah to win the major championship and to be able to score goals in the meeting, and a large number of the country’s people are setting up tents and installing giant screens to watch the meeting together, as well as the spread of banners decorated with pictures of them.” Our Egyptian star is next to the drawings scattered on the walls of many houses.”
And he continues, “We were hoping for the presence of Salah’s family in the village. His wife, Maggie, and their two daughters, Mecca and Kian, came to Cairo last week for a quick visit, and they set off on Friday evening to France to attend the meeting from the stadium, to support the Egyptian captain and the English Premier League’s top scorer.”
Salah plays the third Champions League final during his career with Liverpool, where he lost the first against Real Madrid in 2018, but he was lucky the second time to win against Tottenham Hotspur in 2019, when he scored the first goal for his team.
But Salah’s family will not be able to hold gatherings to watch the match on their street, as they used to in previous meetings, due to the death of one of the people in the past days, and Salah’s uncle, Abdel Aziz Al Bambi, says to “Sky News Arabia”: Noisy, coinciding with the approaching date of the difficult meeting, but the young and old wish Mohamed success against Real Madrid.”
Al-Bambi continues: “Hajj Salah, Muhammad’s father, intends to receive family members and close people in his house to watch the match together, and I will open the doors of my house for those who want to cheer without clamoring. Everyone’s nerves are very tight, anxiety in the hearts, but we trust in our son’s ability to change the course of the meeting in favor of Liverpool.” We are optimistic and wish him success.”
And Salah’s uncle continues: “As for Nasr, Salah’s brother, he will not be with us, as he also went to Paris. He intends to encourage him from the stands. He has to be close to him in those crucial moments, and celebrate with him, God willing, in the event of victory, ascending to the podium and raising the precious cup. We are following up with them moment by moment what is going on in the match.”
Salah considers the “Night of Revenge” match, according to his recent statements, as his team lost against Real Madrid 4 years ago, after he left the field injured and crying after a collision with defender Sergio Ramos.
