Russia is banning actors Sean Penn, Ben Stiller, and 23 other People in america from entering its nation as component of a new round of sanctions, the Russian Overseas Ministry wrote on its internet site.
The listing of newly sanctioned US citizens also integrated a team of US politicians and imagine-tank leaders, which include Democratic and Republican Sens. Pat Toomey, Kyrsten Sinema, Rick Scott, Mike Rounds, Kevin Cramer, and Mark Kelly.
The go will come as a response to US President Joe Biden’s sanctions from Russian citizens, the push release reported. The Russian Overseas Ministry did not specify why it selected the 25 individuals that it incorporated in its checklist.
Equally Stiller and Penn have been supporters of Ukraine’s cause in its ongoing conflict with Russia.
In June, Ukraine’s Ministry of Protection thanked in a tweet Stiller, Penn, and actors Liev Schreiber and Angelina Jolie for viewing its state “even with the threat.”
Stiller met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on June 20, calling the leader (and previous actor) his hero.
Penn, who is working on a documentary about how the Donbas location of Ukraine has been impacted by the conflict with Russia, also achieved with Zelensky earlier this year. In a CNN job interview, he explained Zelensky’s management as “new to the modern environment in phrases of courage and dignity and love.”
