On Friday’s episode of Politico’s podcast “Playbook Deep Dive,” Sarah Matthews, 1 of many aides who resigned on January 6, said Meadows was normally observed as an enabler.
“He wouldn’t talk up and say what we all realized and would type of in some cases just sit back again and I listened to that from a number of persons in general at my tenure at The White Household,” she advised Politico’s Ryan Lizza. “He was usually form of seeking out for his personal most effective passions it felt like.”
Matthews claimed Meadows’ textual content messages from that day built it clear he was acquiring bombarded by men and women telling him to get the situation beneath regulate.
Meadows turned about thousands of texts to the January 6 committee, which ranged from Donald Trump Jr. advising Meadows to notify Trump to “condemn this shit Asap” to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene expressing the rioters were antifa “dressed like Trump supporters.”
On September 15, CNN documented Meadows complied with the Justice Department’s subpoena for its January 6 investigation.
A lawyer for Meadows did not right away answer to Insider’s request for remark.
