Sedatu National Reconstruction Program allocates more than 4,000 million pesos in Mexico City

With the purpose of rebuild real estate damaged by the earthquakes of 2017 and 2018the Secretariat of Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development (Sedatu) has allocated around 4,000 million pesos for 1,604 actions focused on the perimeter of Mexico City, which are part of the National Reconstruction Program.

According to Edna Vega Rangel, Undersecretary of Territorial and Agrarian Planning of Sedatu, and National Commissioner of Reconstructionindicated that the work of the secretariat has focused on intervening in the 16 municipalities of Mexico City, in order to rebuild homes, schools, health centers and buildings with cultural value.

In a recount of the actions that Sedatu has carried out in Mexico City, in terms of reconstruction, it was detailed that 91% of the actions are completed, 2% in process and 7% to start.

According to Vega Rangel, more than 22,000 direct jobs and 77,000 indirect jobs have been generated by actions in this regard.

Sedatu detailed that the actions carried out in the capital have been divided into the following items:

• 1,351 actions for the rehabilitation of schools and educational centers, with an investment of 1,704 million pesos.
• 61 housing reconstruction actions, with an investment of 35 million pesos.
• 224 actions to rebuild buildings of cultural value with a spill of 896 million pesos.
• 18 health centers with an income of 1,371 million pesos.

A few weeks ago, the official specified that the National Reconstruction Program It consists mainly of resources from the Federal Expenditure Budget, as well as funds from state and municipal governments, insurance, foundations, among others.
