Shopping centers in Puebla plan to recover 100% of jobs with El Buen Fin

Puebla, Pue. For this 2022 and with El Buen Fin, which will take place next November, the Association of Shopping Centers of Puebla (Acecop) plans to recover the 1,100 jobs that were missing from the 3,500 lost due to the pandemic, said the agency’s director, Andrés De La Luz Espinoza.

He commented that the sector he leads with 77 complexes has been one of the fastest moving forward, so before the end of the year they will be 100% in job recovery, as long as there is no other outbreak of Covid-19 infections.

He said that the recovered jobs include cleaning, maintenance, security guards and seasonal sales workers, since the return of customers is more noticeable, especially driven by tourism.

In this context, De La Luz Espinoza insisted that the return of tourism is helping to alleviate the economic situation, considering that foreign visits represent 30% of the 2 million a month.

He deepened that 70% of the visitors come from neighboring states such as Tlaxcala, Tabasco, Hidalgo, Oaxaca, Morelos, Veracruz and even Querétaro, due to the fact that they have large shopping centers, which represent a second option to know after a tourist attraction. .

He pointed out that the sanitary measures have not been relaxed, because it is in the interest of the administrators of the complexes that visitors maintain the confidence that they are in spaces where the use of face masks is at least mandatory.
