President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador pointed out that there will be reform to the National Electoral Institute (INE) with the purpose that the people elect the magistrates of the electoral court and the advisers of the electoral body.
During his usual morning conference, López Obrador pointed out that he will also seek to reduce the institute’s budget, since “a lot of money is being allocated to the Elections.”
AMLO added that efforts will be made to ensure that there is no duplication and that there is only one electoral body to make all the elections in the country, because the “onerous” expense between the INE and the Court is replicated in each state, “there are 32 devices and it is paid permanently for the elections every three years or six years, if necessary reform,” he said.
