Supervision is the task of the STPS to verify compliance with the outsourcing reform: Alejandro Salafranca

Heading for the second year of the reform in matters of subcontracting The efforts of the labor authority are focused on supervision and inspection that allow evaluating the compliance of those who hire and offer specialized services.

During his participation in the framework of the XX Anniversary of the Mexican Association of Human Capital Companies (AMECH), Alejandro Salafranca, head of the Decent Work Unit, explained that the first results of the reform that have been presented, such as the direct hiring of 3 million workers, the 27% wage increase for formal workers who stopped being subcontracted and the increase in the payment of utilities by 109 percent.

Before the directors of global human capital companies, Salafranca said that “there are issues to analyze and evaluate what the future of the sector is, how this sector – to which a special chapter of the Federal Labor Law— has been adapted, it will be discussed, without haste, but without pause the effort of adaptation”.

In this sense, he explained “we must start to supervise and inspect and the Inspection Directorate has already started with the operations to inspect that the companies comply with the Law. In the daily life of the STPS, it has already started with the operations of companies that comply with the Law. new law that is already in the daily life of the inspection plan”.

After pointing out that the definitive data will be presented after a year, in order to have a broader data, Salafranca affirmed that in the first inspections it has been identified that the main reasons, for which the registration as a Specialized Services company is withdrawn, range from the employer’s refusal to inspect, even incorrect data in the REPSE, as well as illegal subcontracting.
