Investment projects in Nuevo León are funded and supported by the financial plan: Carlos Garza

“They have financial support, either through funding, support from the federal government and maintaining spending in the terms we propose,” said Carlos Garza during his presentation “Advances and Challenges in Financial Matters,” at the event organized by the IMEF.

State investment increased 176% compared to the end of the 2021 financial year, which represents an additional 6,860 million pesos, he indicated.

For mobility projects, 101,504 million pesos are required, which are multi-year projects that will be developed between 2022 and 2027.

Later, in an interview with the media, Carlos Garza explained that of the 75,771 million pesos of investment, 60,000 come from the state, and the rest are funded by resources from the federal government.

In the case of the suburban train, he recalled, the federation will contribute just over 12,000 million pesos, plus purchases of gas-based urban trucks, the cost will be set by a private party and is paid through public transport rates, and To capitalize the cost of the transmetro, a tender is held, whoever wins will contribute a capital of between 3,000 and 4,000 million pesos.

“What is envisioned for 2023, in terms of federal resources, is not so bad for the state, it is about guaranteeing resources for the Libertad dam and for El Cuchillo, if we add up, they are more than 6,000 million pesos,” he stressed.

Other investments

The secretary of Finance and general treasurer of the state, indicated that at the end of October the administration will have to cover more than 900 million pesos to the teachers for the payment of bonuses, “that money is not going to be given to us by the federal government, but we do have money to pay for it ourselves”, he pointed out.

He stressed that more than 4,000 million pesos have been invested in security, a barracks is being built in Cerralvo that will cost 1,000 million pesos, plus equipment for an Army detachment.

Investment in security is the item that is growing the most, but the one that is spent the most is on education. For this reason, he calculated that the expenditure budget for 2023 will have an increase of 14 percent.

Regarding spending adjustments, he emphasized that the Labor Reform is costing the state executive around 400 million pesos, which the federation did not put up.
