Tatiana’s dismissal

That almost inexorable thing that what happened to him would happen to him: its outcome. The case of Tatiana Clouthier contains the essence of a classical Greek tragedy. A tragedy that includes an original betrayal and a pact with the devil (of a Faustian nature) that ended up devouring her. There was effectively in her profile, a betrayal of an ideological and family heritage that she embodied in her father, Don Manuel Clouthier. And a Faustian pact when entering into an alliance against nature, with a political and doctrinal current for whose ranks she would always be an upstart.

Only the most naive could believe (swallow the pill) that it was a resignation. In Mexico, no one resigns from the President of the Republic. Never. But incidentally, Tatiana’s dismissal implies damage to the 4T government itself. And those damages have been caused, regardless of who came in to replace her. In the case, one of the best officials of the present administration.

After the removal of Alfonso Romo, the 4T government urgently needed a substitute link and a functional dialogue with the private sector. And with prior planning or not, Tatiana went on to form that link with support in her position at the head of the Ministry of Economy. With her departure, that link and the dialogue were broken and she made herself felt explicitly. The effect was very obvious. One more nail in the coffin of trust that requires private investment to flourish.

In a clear way, the leader of the Concamin (Confederation of Industrial Chambers), José Abugarber, expressed: “For us, the businessmen, who have a very good relationship with Tatiana and who has been an excellent collaborator with the federal government”, their separation “It’s a bad message.” The International Chamber of Commerce Mexico (ICC), commented that the dismissal came “at a very delicate moment…”

And evidently, Clouthier’s dismissal took place under the illusion that scandals and shocks remain strictly limited to his exclusive sphere. There is no conscience, there has not been! of the repercussions and contamination effects caused by mistakes and blunders. Economic theory itself takes into consideration the repercussions of actions, both favorable and unfavorable, in the concept of externalities. In the matter of Clouthier’s resignation, there are externalities that are clearly detrimental to the progress of the internal economy that affects everyone.
