Security, priority axis to manage in the Asetur: Juan Enrique Suárez

Oaxaca, Oaxaca. The new president of the Association of Secretaries of Tourism of Mexico (Asetur), Juan Enrique Suárez, announced that during the coming months the main axis of his work plan will be security, so that the country’s tourist destinations are more competitive.

“It is one of the axes, if not the most important pillar in a destination. To be able to attract tourism without security, it is difficult for us to do work and promotion, because no matter how many resources you have, if you have little security, the tourist will not arrive, ”he said in an interview with the media within the framework of the fourth edition of the Tianguis de Pueblos Mágicos .

He stated that the plan is to generate a new coordination between state secretaries of Tourism with the federal government, in order to have new projects that allow reducing the rate of insecurity in the different tourist points of the country.

“We are going to work hand in hand with all the secretaries so that we can consolidate together with the federal Secretary of Tourism (Miguel Torruco Marques) projects that promote the issue of security. Surely we are going to see safer states and municipalities in the coming years and months,” he assured.

Inflation

The Secretary of Tourism of Nayarit pointed out that although the sector is attentive to the impacts that the inflationary situation may generate, there are also two factors that are mitigating the situation.

The first is that the states of the country are generating greater tourism competitiveness against other international destinations, which is why the arrival of visitors continues to increase, while the second point focuses on the fact that at the federal level, Mexico is being sought to position itself as a recipient of asian tourism.

“Today our competition both in the domestic and international markets is stronger every day, we must remember that, for example, the Asian market has not yet opened and that has helped a lot due to the work that the federal Secretary of Tourism has generated,” he commented. .

Today, at the moment of having this reopening, we are going to face different situations, but I am sure that we are all prepared to face those challenges”, stressed Juan Enrique.

During the fourth edition of the Tianguis Turístico de Pueblos Mágicos, the board of directors of Asetur changed, since the management of Carlos Rivera Castellanos ended.
