ICA and Idinsa, in charge of the work of the Mexico-Toluca Interurban train where an accident was recorded

The Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) reported this Sunday that in the morning six construction workers of the Intercity Train Mexico-Toluca (TIMT) suffered an accident when a grating fell, so they were immediately treated and evaluated, and three of them were taken by ambulance to a hospital in the area.

“Inside Military Camp 1 F, workers were working on a six by six meter column, when a wire rod tensioner allegedly failed, causing it to fall from a height of three meters. The work is carried out by the company Constructora Puente Manantial, which corresponds to the construction of the intercity train by engineer Fernando Nieves, ”the agency detailed.

The company Constructora Puente Manantial was created in October 2021 by ICApromoter of Integral Development (IDINSA) and Freyssinet Mexico days after winning the tender to build a cable-stayed viaduct.

The contract between said firm and the General Directorate of Railway and Multimodal Development (depending on the SICT), is for an amount of 1,148.3 million pesos with the promise of completing the work on February 8, 2023, at the latest.

In the statement in which the secretariat reported on the accident, it was detailed that the injured workers, all male, were immediately assessed and treated; Three of them were transferred in Red Cross ambulance 15, as well as by ambulances 05 and 16 of the Álvaro Obregón Mayor’s Office.

“The company reported the situation under control,” it was stated.
