The main stock indices of the US market trade with gains on Tuesday. Wall Street advances after the good quarterly results of Goldman Sachs raised hopes of a positive reporting season.
The index Dow Jonesmade up of the shares of 30 industrial giants, gains 0.80% 30,426.49 units, while the reference index S&P 500 of 500 securities rises 0.72% to 3,704.32 points. The Nasdaq technology rises 0.47% to 10,725.54 points.
The actions of Goldman Sachs Group Inc rose just over 5% after reporting a smaller-than-expected decline in quarterly profit due to a slowdown in investment banking, cushioned by a boost in interest income.
All 11 S&P sector indices are trading with gains, led by banking companies. Within the Dow Jones index, most values advance, with 20 in positive territory. Goldman shares lead the move.
“Goldman Sachs reported a drop in its profits of 43%, but since this drop is less than expected, and also exceed estimates in income, the stock rises. The public was also interested in the financial group’s restructuring proposal,” explained eToro .
