SMEs represent 37% of Mercado Libre sales

Mercado Libre reported that during the Good End 2022 it will support SMEs to increase their sales. The marketplace has more than 2 million sellers within its platform and the categories with the largest number of them are Electronics, Home, Fashion, Toys and Health. Likewise, 200 thousand of these sellers are SMEs and represent 37% of what has been sold during 2022.

In addition, so far this year, 63,000 vendors have made their first sale in Mercado Libre. According to data from the platform, during the past Hot Sale during a discount campaign, total sales increased by more than 40% on average compared to the week prior to the campaign.

SME sellers showed a growth of more than 11% in their sales, compared to the previous week without campaign. As part of the strategies that are implemented to provide them with support in Buen Fin, Mercado Libre offers Bank Coupons that users can use when buying products on the platform, as well as co-funded campaigns in which the seller puts a discount and the company add another to the product.

On the other hand, Mercado Libre seeks to streamline the business processes of its sellers. In recent years, the company has strengthened its logistics network, which is made up of airplanes, electric vans, warehouses, last-mile centers and thousands of independent distributors who have joined the Parcel Agencies and Mercado Envoys Extra. With the former, Mercado Libre supports the development of small businesses, offering the possibility of increasing traffic to their stores and adding extra income as package agencies.

For its part, Mercado Envios Extra is a technological solution that integrates independent couriers into Mercado Libre’s logistics, so that they can generate additional income by delivering packages with their own vehicle and with the flexibility to do so on the days they prefer, taking into account account the delivery area and preferred routes.
