Nestlé promotes youth employability in the country

In Mexico there are between 8 and 12 million young people who do not work or study for various reasons, and there is a registered dropout of more than 50% of young people between secondary and high school. Faced with this, and with the commitment to support young people, Nestlé has various spaces that aim to promote youth and achieve their successful introduction to the labor market.

As a result of the above, the company held the VII Pacific Alliance Youth Meeting, which in addition to being an employability program, provides a job offer at the Opportunities Fair, being a space for inclusion, creation, dialogue , communication, debate, cultural, social and brotherhood exchange of the Latin American peoples for the generation of opportunities for the young people attending.

“The meeting was held for the second time in Mexico and for the first time in a hybrid way, so that young people from Colombia, Peru, Chile and Mexico connect and learn through conferences and workshops on agribusiness, entrepreneurship, dual training and employability. digital”, commented Nora Villafuerte, Vice President of Human Resources of Nestlé Mexico.

It should be noted that the Pacific Alliance is made up of Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru, and represents an innovative and flexible integration strategy, with clear, pragmatic goals that pursue the common good of the four member countries.

Among the main objectives of the Alliance is to promote greater growth, development and competitiveness of the economies of the parties, with a view to achieving greater well-being, overcoming socioeconomic inequality and the social inclusion of its inhabitants.

Under the title “CREATORS OF CHANGE” the Youth Meeting brought together more than 210,000 participants, between 18 and 29 years old, in a space where they can discuss the challenges they face when entering the world of work. The talks and workshops were attended by authorities, businessmen, opinion leaders and creators of digital content with the aim of knowing different points of view and ideas that contribute to improving youth labor insertion, productivity and competitiveness.

“This Meeting for young people takes place in a context in which, according to the WEF (World Economic Forum) estimates that by 2025 technological advances will be responsible for the creation of 97 million new jobs, however, these jobs and the accessibility to them will be directly related to the degree of specialization and knowledge of new technologies of the candidates”, added Nora Villafuerte.

According to the spokeswoman, dealing with problems that directly affect the well-being of the populations is the main key to the success of programs like this one, since they are convinced that only through this type of public-private partnerships and spaces can it can contribute to more young people being better prepared to face the challenges that afflict the world.

“We call on the government, companies, academia, organizations and civil society to join the Initiative for Youth, the Youth Meeting of the Pacific Alliance, and any other initiative that makes it possible to have more prepared youth, more competitive countries and stronger and more resilient economies. The call is for them to believe, recognize and invest more and better in young people”, pointed out Nora Villafuerte.
