The European aeronautical constructor Airbus announced this Friday a net profit on the rise of 65%, for 667 million euros (about 665 million dollars), in a third quarter marked by a “solid financial performance”.
Despite the difficulties of its suppliers, with problems from the pandemicto keep up with its production rate, Airbus maintains its projection of delivering “about 700 aircraft” in 2022.
It still has 263 aircraft left to fulfill its promises by the end of December, a number well above the 140 aircraft it delivered to customers in the third quarter.
Aircraft deliveries are a reliable indicator of profitability in the aircraft industry, as customers pay most of the bill at the time they take possession of the machine.
Airbus turnover increased 27% between July and September, to 13.3 billion euros (about 13.28 billion dollars).
The aeronautical manufacturer maintains its objective of achieving an adjusted operating profit of 5.5 billion euros in 2022 and has revised its free cash flow projections upwards, since it now expects some 4.5 billion euros instead of 3.5 billion, a figure that it reflects, for example, the appreciation of the dollar against the euro.
