In Guatemala, which heads the list, half of the women have no income of their own, according to figures from the ECLAC (Economic Commission for Latin America).
Other Central American countries are among the first places: Honduras, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Panama.
Colombia, Mexico y Brazil they are among the largest and most important economies in the region and still have 39.4, 29.4 and 23.4% of their female populations without their own income, respectively.
In all the countries in the ranking, the levels of men who do not receive their own income are significantly lower.
