Congress of Durango endorses the reform to expand the presence of the Army in the streets

The Congress of Durango approved this Tuesday the minute that reforms the Fifth Transitory Article of the decree by which various provisions of the Political Constitution are reformed, added and repealed, in terms of National Guard.

With 18 votes in favor and six against, the LXIX local Legislature endorsed extending to 2028 the participation of the Armed forces in public security tasks.

The votes in favor of the minutes were by the deputies of the PRI, Morena, the PT, PRD and the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico (PVEM).

The vote on this constitutional reform took place four days after the secretary of GovernorateAdán Augusto López Hernández, went to the local legislative chamber to promote the approval of the minutes.

Last Friday, the head of the Ministry of the Interior (Segob) explained that his visit to the state Congresses is for the purpose of debating with those who have the closest representation to the citizen.

“We came to talk with local legislators who are an important part of the constitutionality of a law,” said Adán Augusto López Hernández, reiterating that it is a positive reform for the entire country.

This Tuesday, the Secretary of the Interior attended the local congresses of Coahuila and Nuevo León as part of the tour he has made to talk with the legislators of the states.

It should be remembered that last Thursday, October 27, the reform obtained the approval of 17 state congresses, that is, what is required to be declared constitutional and can be published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF).

With the approval of this reform, the Congress of Durango joined the Congresses of Oaxaca, Campeche, Mexico City, Chiapas, Sinaloa, Tabasco, Baja California, Puebla, Veracruz, Tlaxcala, Quintana Roo, Michoacán, Tamaulipas, State of Mexico. , Sonora, Nayarit, Hidalgo, Colima and San Luis Potosí.
